Demetria Demetria "Demi" Lovato grew up in Dallas, Texas. Her parents are Patrick Martin Lovato and Dianna Dela Garza. Demi was a young actor as a child in the show the show 'Barney & Friends. It was then that they were cast in an Disney Channel short called "As the Bell Rings" followed by a lead role for the film Camp Rock. As they were filming Camp Rock, Demi Lovato recorded three songs to be used in the soundtrack of the film and has been releasing solo singles since. Lovato got the part of Sonny with a Chance in 2009 as well as another Disney Channel program.
