Jazmine Sullivan

JazmineJazmine Jazmine, who is Philadelphia native was born and raised there. Pam, Jazmine's mother, is a former backing singer in the band Philadelphia International Records. At the age of five, young, her father got an appointment as the curator of the city's Historic Strawberry Mansion in the Strawberry Mansion section, and her family moved into the mansion's historical site. In 2005, a Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts graduates, she is a major in the field of vocal music. Sullivan began her singing career in the contralto section of the children's choirand after a couple of years, she joined the adult group. Sullivan wasn't aware of secular music at beginning. "When when I was eleven year old, a person asked me to register for one of the gospel records. I wasn't going to sign up for that," she says. "Then McDonald's offered a competition to kids from cities. It was then that I had the chance to sing Accept What God Allows on It's Showtime Apollo. The crowd was welcoming." She was just 13 when she performed along in a duet with Stevie Wonder for his grandson's birthday. Sullivan made her first signing with Jive Records when she was fifteen. It was her first time signing with Jive Records at the age fifteen. The singer-songwriter produced an entire album. However, this album did not see release. Sullivan was later dropped out of the company. She had a good working relationship along with Missy Elliott. Elliott produced several of her songs which included "Backstabbers", which was written by Timbaland.
